#Showbiz: Manager confirms veteran artiste Shidee arrested in alleged assault

KUALA LUMPUR: "Yes, Shidee is the individual arrested by the police on Sunday," said the manager of the popular singer from the 1980s, Shidee, Efeendy R Azmi.

He confirmed the arrest of the singer who allegedly beat his brother-in-law in a housing flat in Bandar Tun Razak, here, on Sunday.

Efeendy added that he could not give any further statement regarding Shidee's arrest.

"I apologise. Right now I'm in Thailand for work. But I have contacted Shidee's family to find out what happened.

"However, I cannot share any information about the incident because it is still being investigated by the police," he said in a Harian Metro report yesterday.

Efeendy hopes that the public will not speculate on the arrest of the Sayang Semuanya Sudah Terambat singer.

"I request for outsiders not to make any speculations because it will only make the situation worse.

"Let the authorities complete the investigation regarding this case first," he said.

Earlier, the police arrested the veteran artiste who allegedly hit and injured his brother-in-law on the head and body using a long iron rod after a disagreement.

In a statement issued, the singer was remanded for four days until March 28 to assist the investigation.

It is understood that the incident happened at the house of the suspect's mother-in-law and that they had fought several times before due to family disagreements, but this time it was worse.
