MALACCA: A four-year-old boy had to endure pain for 30 minutes when his head was stuck in a metal bed frame at the family home in Balai Panjang here today.
Muhammad Amirul Syahir Amir Hamzah was playing with his brother, Muhamad Amirul Syafiq, six, in a bedroom when the former’s head was trapped between two metal rods of a double-decker bed.
In the incident about 2.50pm, the victim’s wails brought their mother, Rafidah Anuar, 33, who was in a bathroom, rushing to the bedroom where she tried in vain to free him from his predicament.
She then contacted the Jalan Kubu Fire and Rescue Department.
Firemen had to cut one of the metal rods to free Rafidah’s son, said the department’s senior officer, Ibrahim Salleh.
