TASEK GELUGOR: A lorry driver suffered serious burns after his heavy vehicle crashed into a tree and caught fire at Jalan Kampung Baru, Sungai Korok here today.
A spokesman from the Tasek Gelugor Fire and Rescue Department said when they arrived at the scene at about 3.30pm, they found the victim, in his 60s, pinned to his seat.
"By then, the fire had been put out by passersby.
"It took us about 15 minutes to extricate the victim. He was rushed to the Kepala Batas Hospital for treatment," he said.
The spokesman said the victim sustained 10 per cent burns to his torso and legs.
