NSC to announce details on CMCO in Klang

KUALA LUMPUR: The National Security Council (NSC) will be announcing details on the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) in Klang.

Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the move was to ensure coordination and uniformity of information of the CMCO that will be imposed in the district.

"As for the state government, we will work closely with all agencies to ensure the well-being of the people," he said.

He added the state government had submitted feedback and suggestions related to the implementation of CMCO in the Klang district to Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin this morning.

"All the feedback and suggestions with several improvements were forwarded virtually to Muhyiddin during the NSC special meeting at 11am."

He said the feedback and suggestions were gathered from various agencies and departments during the CMCO meeting for Klang district, which was chaired by state secretary Datuk Mohd Amin Ahmad Ahya.

Amirudin said the state government will continue to conduct targeted screening in the red zone area as a measure to control the spread of the Covid-19.

The latest surge of Covid-19 has prompted the government to impose CMCO in Klang, along with Sandakan, Papar, and Tuaran in Sabah.

Announcing this yesterday, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the move was taken after these areas recorded more than 40 positive cases recently.

Klang will be under CMCO for 14 days, starting tomorrow.
