PKR forms President's Office Secretariat

KUALA LUMPUR: PKR has set up a five-member President's Office Secretariat to address issues which crop up in the country's political landscape.

Party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who chaired the establishment of the secretariat yesterday, said the secretariat will help to determine the party's direction while facilitating activities at all levels of PKR.

"The President's Office Secretariat has been entrusted to empower PKR, to help and coordinate movements at all levels of PKR, while monitoring activities at all levels of the party.

"The secretariat has also been tasked to check on the party's constitution to determine PKR's direction and future, while also providing views and proposals for issues which crop up in the country's politics," Anwar said in a statement.

The new secretariat is comprised of five political secretaries in the president's office. It is led by its senior political secretary Datuk Romli Ishak who will acting as its coordinator.

The other members of the secretariat are Onn Abu Bakar, Sim Tze Tzin, Manivanan Gowin and Juwairiya Zulkifli.

"PKR leaders and members are advised to cooperate in shouldering this responsibility in carrying out the party's aspirations in championing the people's rights and welfare for the sake of the future," said Anwar.
