#Showbiz: Malaysian artist designs Batman's new comic book cover

KUALA LUMPUR: Local comic book artist Alan Quah must be over the moon when an opportunity to work with DC Comics fell onto his lap.

Sharing the good news on his Instagram account recently, he said: “I am so proud to announce my debut DC cover, a prestige format one shot Store Variant for The Comic Mint and Associates, ‘Tales From The Dark Multiverse: Batman Knightfall’!

“A few weeks ago I got a call from my rep Daniel Scott telling me DC is getting me on board for a cover opportunity, the biggest news of my career.

“And the cover is for the Batman! 14 years waiting for my opportunity to draw for DC and they gave me Batman. It is a good story to tell my future grandchildren,” he wrote.

While Quah did not share when the comic book be made available, the entertainment website Comicbook.com said that the new Tales From The Dark Multiverse line will launch on Oct 16 with “Knightfall #1”.

DC Comics said that the Tales From The Dark Multiverse line reimagines notable events from the DC Universe, but down a “dark and twisted path”.

The stories will be told by some of the company’s most talented writers and artists, which include Scott Snyder, Kyle Higgins, Javier Fernandez, Jeff Loveness, Brad Walker, Andrew Hennessy and Lee Weeks.
